Hi Everyone! My name is Tamara Ellis and I am Your Money Girl! My mission is to empower women, most importantly women of color, to take control of their finances, by exercising your right to say “no” and choosing yourself! I believe in using PRACTICAL tools and basic principles that can prepare you for the uncomfortable times, and also give you a sense of peace that you are not just working to die, but working to live! Born in Dallas, I have lived most of my adult life in Atlanta, GA. I received my Bachelors Degree in Finance in 2003 from Oakwood University. My educational background led to an extensive career in Finance working with Fortune 500 companies and High-Net worth boutique investment firms such as Merrill Lynch, Stavis and Cohen Financial, and Northwestern Mutual. I became fully licensed receiving my Series 7 and 66 while employed with Merrill Lynch in 2007 and I am currently in management at an Independent Broker Dealer. I’ve always had a fascination with the power of finances and how we have the ability to change and fine tune our financial compass. I’ve had some serious involuntary struggles in my life but those times taught me, and continue to teach me, some basic principles that can prepare you for the uncomfortable times, but also give you a peace of mind. I cannot wait to share with you what I’ve learned and continue to learn!
